WA/BC Ferries Wi-fi

Intellicheck Mobilisa established a seamless wireless network to provide Internet connectivity for passengers using major ferry routes which cross the Central Puget Sound between Washington State and British Columbia.

The ferry system allows passengers continuous high speed internet access, giving the customer choices and control of their commute, recreational or business time as an enhancement to the passenger experience.

Through a partnership with Washington State and British Columbia a mobile wireless network was designed, installed, tested, and operated by Intellicheck Mobilisa.

Continuous connectivity is possible in an over-water environment and as proven by Intellicheck Mobilisa, greatly improves the rider-ship experience for hundreds of passengers daily.

The project implementation plan used to guide the development and testing of a wireless over water system provides a framework that can be used by other organizations in assessing technological solutions to a similar problem.

For other over-water environments where improving rider-ship experience with high-speed internet access is desired, or increasing security and productivity of crew members is crucial, or where cell phone coverage along the routes is marginal or non-existent, a system by Intellicheck Mobilisa is available.
